Join us for free, weekly walks year-round! Click on a walking program below to learn more.

Offered in partnership with the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team, Get W.I.T.H. It provides the chance to walk in a warm, safe, and fun environment during the winter months. The program is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Step count logs and a limited number of pedometers are available so participants can track their progress.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m., from November to April

Where: Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI), 260 Kent St W, Lindsay, ON

Nordic Pole Walking is one of the fastest-growing low-impact exercises. Pole walking has been shown to burn more energy than regular walking, uses 90 per cent of the body’s muscles, and is a great social activity. Our free sessions are led by certified instructors.

When: weekly at 9:00 a.m., from May to September

Where: Bobcaygeon and Lindsay

A limited number of walking poles are provided for those who do not have their own.

Walks in nature can promote better mental and physical health. Spending time in the natural environment, such as near trees and rivers, can reduce stress and improve mood and concentration. Nature walks are also a great way to exercise and socialize!
