Grief Support

Hospice Services offers a variety of support groups for those who have had a recent loss, ranging to those who are further along in their grief journey. Discussion and personal reflection begin the journey of moving forward through grief while exploring ways to cope with life following the loss of a loved one.

Registration is required for all programs.

A twelve-week program which allows participants to experience support from others who are also grieving. This curriculum-based program encourages discussion and personal reflection in order to begin the journey of moving forward through grief while exploring ways to cope with life following the loss of a loved one.

An open group for those who have completed the Understanding Your Loss program.  After Words offers no-pressure support, companionship, and a safe space to discuss feelings, issues and concerns.  Registration is required.

This group meets in person on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 10-11 AM at our Hospice Services office or from 1-2 PM in Bobcaygeon at the Lion’s Hall.

Are you living with the shock of a sudden death?

This group offers a safe space to explore questions and feelings with others who have experienced death by suicide, overdose or traumatic incident.

The group meets in person on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30PM to 8:00 PM at our Hospice Services office.

Are you living through the shock of a death by suicide?

A safe place where you can identify, explore and clarify your thoughts and feelings following the death of someone by suicide. Registration is required.

This group meets in person on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at our Hospice Services office.

Are you struggling with a death by overdose?

Understanding the grief after an overdose loss is especially challenging and painful. This group is a safe space to explore those feelings with others who have experienced the same loss. Registration is required.

This group meets in person on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at our Hospice Services office.

Hospice Services has an extensive collection of books and videos covering a wide range of topics for all age groups, including children and teens. Such subjects include living with cancer, coping with grief and caring for a loved one. Our library items are available for clients and caregivers to borrow and take home or sit in our lovely library and read in a quiet place.
