Lindsay Community Food Market

Contact the Food Market by text or email and let them know that you would like to access their services. They will collect some basic information to create a profile for you in their system and then they will book you an appointment. Individuals may access the food bank once per month.

They offer two different types of appointments: Shopping Shifts and Hamper Shifts. Regardless of the shift type, individuals receive available cold items (i.e. milk, eggs, frozen meat, etc.), available fresh produce, bread and baked goods, and additional items that may be available. The main difference between the two appointment types is how non-perishable food is provided:

For In-Person Shopping Shifts:

• You choose your own non-perishable food items from the shelves.

• Appointment is typically 15 minutes long

• These appointments are more limited and may have longer wait times.

For Hamper Shifts:

• You pick-up a pre-packed hamper that will be prepared by volunteers.

• These appointments typically have shorter wait times because more hamper appointments are generally available.

• You can submit a list of needed items and dietary restrictions at least 48 hours before your appointment to help guide hamper preparation.

No one in need will be turned away, regardless of they live within the service area or not
